ABOUT THE DANCER
STYLES OF DANCE
ALTO GRYE | CHOREOGRAPHER
Gilly’s passion for dance and performance started from a very young age, when he saw Ozone and Turbo popping and locking in the film Breaking, as well as idolising the red velvet tour for Janet Jackson. With a passion for many styles, he is widely versatile in his natural movement and with this his versatility comes into its own and exudes into his choroegraphy, having the ability to blend effortlessly between movements stylistically.
His career reflects this: directing and choreographing for multiple music artists and large performances.
Gilly describes his style as G Sauce…
“G Sauce’ combines the hype of new jack, the foundations and technicalities of hip hop, authentic rawness of krump and the strong positive energy of commercial dance. It is about finding your voice: the personalisation of choreo is key, the finesse of the flavour; strength, intricacy and accuracy connect musically and showcase an extreme eye for detail and unity, whilst being your unapologetic self. A sense of character comes from experiencing emotions in the moment, if you are not feeling, you’re not in the right place.
All combine to create a visual feast which which displays energy and precision together.
Short phrase: “There’s no sauce like G sauce.”
